Challenges

SCUSD needed distinctive, cohesive branding for multiple programs including Men’s Leadership Academy, Foster Youth Services, and Tobacco Use Prevention Education while maintaining a unifying district identity. They also wanted to boost student participation and understanding of each program’s unique benefits. Without a clear, compelling brand presence, these vital after-school initiatives risked being overlooked by the very students they were designed to support.

​imaginary i took a consultative approach, gathering input from district leaders and students to shape the messaging and design direction. We created separate logos that each reflected its program’s core mission, yet shared a cohesive visual language tying them back to SCUSD. Alongside the branding, we helped craft awareness campaigns that aligned with district goals, highlighting the programs’ values and success stories through social media, flyers, and on-campus events. By combining strategic design with targeted outreach, we empowered SCUSD to build momentum around each after-school initiative and foster stronger student engagement.

Capturing a Global Milestone: Documenting the New UN Youth Director’s Swearing-In

Spencer Dayton came to imaginary i seeking more than just a photoshoot, he wanted to capture the historic swearing-in of a new youth director and launch an awareness campaign for the United Nations youth program.

imaginary i approached this high-profile moment with both creativity and caution. COVID-19 safety measures required maintaining distance, so the team employed a zoom lens to capture every detail without compromising anyone’s well-being. The United Nations flag added another layer of complexity by repeatedly falling down, and the photoshoot needed to remain professional and on schedule to meet the campaign’s tight timeline.

imaginary i treated the photoshoot as a central asset in a broader brand awareness strategy for the UN youth program. Beyond taking striking images, we helped Spencer conceptualize how to use these visuals in social media posts, press releases, and digital promotions that would reach global youth audiences. When the flag fell, Ade quickly improvised, he used his own shoelace to secure it, ensuring the setting remained dignified and professional. The result was a seamless, impactful shoot that not only documented a historic ceremony but also served as the launchpad for a cohesive awareness campaign, reflecting Spencer’s new role and the UN’s commitment to youth empowerment.

My Towel had no existing brand identity, visual assets, or digital presence. Nikki needed both a name and a look for her parent company, Life’s Creations, as well as a captivating logo for her flagship product, My Towel.
